i always wanted to be a tenenbaum
you, know?
i am a twenty-three year old darling girl.
i am not married, i have no children, and i didn't graduate from college. but..
i draw birds and robots; i read books; i laugh till i cry; i love until my heart bursts; i sometimes paint my face or arms with stripes if i'm bored; i create; i play guitar.
i am not impressive, but i am me.
i am addicted to Jesus Christ. He never stops loving, never stops giving, and there is always more of Him. He is the perfect addiction. no one else can satisfy.
These are all just mostly vague details. If you want me, come find me. But, I promise, at the very least, you'll think I'm nice.

did i ever say how much i adore worship. todd and i were briefly talking about it. and i agree with him, its more of a lifestyle than it is just a simple act of adoration. and worship is more than a feeling. its knowing with all your heart that forever you want to belong to Jesus. have him always having the ownership of your heart. forever and ever. above any earthy relationship, above a husband or wife, above a family. to make him be, for all eternity, the complete and full keeper of your heart.
and what a gift that is. the creator of the heavens and the earth, the sun and sky and stars, the creator of passion and love and hope, always wanting to know your innermost being. and how wonderful is the idea that we get to sacrifice our lives to such a king! to lay down our own ideas, and eventually have ideas that are one with our master. to hope for what he hopes, to see what he sees, and to love what he loves. to not see a woman who screwed her life up with a child at 17, but to see a beautiful daughter of christ, who inturn has made some mistakes, but has redeemed herself with the love she holds not only for her own beautiful child, but for a savior that wishes to give her the life she always wanted. and to not see a homeless man on the side of the road as a beggar, a con artist, or a pathetic drunken soul whos only place he has in life, is his own fault. christ longs for us to see people the way he sees them, for this man, who curses his existence and lives in such lonely solitude that he only wishes to be loved, and to be thought of more than he really is. how many times have we percieved ourselves to be failures to christ, as these feel they are themselves? we praise the one who gave us life, and no more have the words "hallelujah" come out of our mouths, we curse this King of Kings.
the God of second chances, and third chances and fourth, and fifth, and however many more times we need. what a loving God we serve! to have enough passion to still love us as we treat him with no more respect than you would give a liar and a cheat.
what a beautiful God it is that we worship. we should see sacrificing our own lives daily not as a service that is unpleasant, but an honor to even do such a thing. for without christ, we are no more worthy to hand him our pathetic lives, than we are to wash his feet. but its times like these when we crawl weeping to his side, and as use our tears of contrition to gently wash away the dirt on his feet, and have his hand touch our shoulder, and caress our face and wash away the dirt on our souls.
how merciful you are oh Lord
what love you give to us
the grace to collide with our repentance
the mercy to forgive us again and again
for you, a mighty king
to love me, a worthless servant
to call me your own, your child
is more love than the vast depths of the waters
feel the sadness father,
of this heart that has lied
to have said praises for your name
but having them all end up as thorns in your brow
i praise you lord, with sincerity now
for considering the nothing i am
and wishing to know my soul
and turning me into a something with you
what are we that christ wishes to know us? that he would even want to call us children of him? to love us as beggars, and sinners, and fools. but to see us as rich, and pure, and wise. praise be to him forever, and may he come quickly.
((but because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in sin -- it is by grace that we are saved. eph. 2:4-5))
