i always wanted to be a tenenbaum
you, know?
i am a twenty-three year old darling girl.
i am not married, i have no children, and i didn't graduate from college. but..
i draw birds and robots; i read books; i laugh till i cry; i love until my heart bursts; i sometimes paint my face or arms with stripes if i'm bored; i create; i play guitar.
i am not impressive, but i am me.
i am addicted to Jesus Christ. He never stops loving, never stops giving, and there is always more of Him. He is the perfect addiction. no one else can satisfy.
These are all just mostly vague details. If you want me, come find me. But, I promise, at the very least, you'll think I'm nice.

contemporary contemplations

i watched the notebook last night. without crying i might add, which is a huge accomplishment. i had one maybe two tears and happily went to bed dreaming of my own noah that awaits me.
i like that movie i think because although it is a cheesy impossible romance, it doesn't depict butterflies and rainbows all the time. like when they're fighting and she says,
''stay with you?! why would i do that?! we're fightin' already!"
"that's what we do! we fight! you tell me when i'm being an arrogant son of a bitch, and i tell you when you're being a pain in the ass. which you are 99
he time. i'm not afraid to hurt your feelings. they have like a two second rebound rate and then you're back doing the next pain in the ass thing!"
"so what."
"so. so i'm saying it's not gonna be easy, it's going to be real hard. but i'm willing to work at it because i want you. i want all of you, forever and ever, you and me.''
too many movies just show that once you're in love it's happy fun puppies kittens christmas that kinda jazz. but in all honesty, love is hard work. and it will always be work.
but if you are really in love with someone then you're willing to just push it all aside cause you love them and you want to be with them.
i could be wrong, but that's what i always figured.
too many girls just want to get married cause they think it'll solve their problems. they don't have to date anymore, they found someone that will love them forever etc. etc. to quote my sister, ''if that's what girls are thinking nowadays, they're in for a big surprise when they get married cause they'll find out, that's the least of their problems.'' the first years of marriage are gonna be hard. you're not used to dealing with someone all the time. and having to compromise, and not do things your way all the time like you were when you were living alone. (or even with your family)
and a lot of people, (not just girls i might add) want to get married because they're lonely.
let me tell you one thing.
if you think another person can solve you're loneliness you'll be sorely disappointed when you're married and its 4a.m. and you're awake while the one you love is quietly sleeping by your side and for the life of you, you can't figure out why you're so desperately alone.
only one person can solve and fill that loneliness inside you, and while a lot of that space, can be filled with a long lasting romantic marraige, its made for the love of Jesus Christ. the love of a Savior that will never leave you after a big fight, who won't disappoint you when you have expectations for them and they just never reach them. He will never ever ever yell at you when you fold your t-shirts differently, and you'll never have to remind him to put the freaking cap on the toothpast and make sure the sink is cleaned out when he's done shaving because his little beardy bits are just all over and it's gross.
granted, i'm being kinda silly, but you know what i mean.
and once you've fully given yourself over to God is when you can fully give yourself over to another person.
just like dating is a pre-req ((...in most cases...)) for marriage, devoting yourself to God is like a pre-req for marriage as well. you have to learn how to trust. how to have faith. how to love, and i mean really love. you have to learn how to give up the things you love so dearly for things that you know are better for you. and how are you expected to do this for a person, a fallible person, not even really worthy of our trust because of the constant temperament of their hearts and the fluctuations we hope don't arise, if you can't give it to a holy and perfect Savior who always has your best interest in mind.
you can't get that from a human.
even from your bestest best friend, or your parents. because we're human, even if we try our hardest and, still may almost always succeed, we can never always have another's best interests in mind.
and that is why i love Jesus.
lol.. and i totally just lost my massive train of thought.
which is probably good for you, cause i could have gone on forever about that.
so anyway.
it's now thundering.
