i always wanted to be a tenenbaum
you, know?
i am a twenty-three year old darling girl.
i am not married, i have no children, and i didn't graduate from college. but..
i draw birds and robots; i read books; i laugh till i cry; i love until my heart bursts; i sometimes paint my face or arms with stripes if i'm bored; i create; i play guitar.
i am not impressive, but i am me.
i am addicted to Jesus Christ. He never stops loving, never stops giving, and there is always more of Him. He is the perfect addiction. no one else can satisfy.
These are all just mostly vague details. If you want me, come find me. But, I promise, at the very least, you'll think I'm nice.

am i missing something?
Friday, November 28, 2008 @ 11:46 PM
why is it that every decent guy i come across is just a façade for someone who is on par with the rest of humanity? is it too much to ask for someone with a rock solid faith, or someone that has a fierce heart and a passion for God? maybe i'm being too proud and demanding too much for myself.
i don't know.
but i'm thinking that i'm questing for the unattainable.
it's either, good guy, not so good looks.
or good looks, not so good guy.
why is this?
am i shallow for hoping that i find my future husband physically attractive?
i sure as heck hope he finds me attractive.
i read a personal ad the other day on craigslist for fun (it makes me feel less alone in my loneliness) and it said "looks don't matter to me."
i thought about that. what if my husband thinks looks don't matter. it sounds like it'd be nice and in my favor, it really does. but then i really throught about it more, and i can't imagine if i were trying to look good and he was just like, "well, looks don't matter, honey."
i would like my looks to matter. i would like my husband to find me attractive and appealing.
and i know i'm misreading that statement. i know it's intended to be read as having appearance not be the judge of things. but i don't know.
anyway.
it just seems like solid, Christian men aren't easy to come by. or maybe they are and i'm looking in the wrong spots. i don't know. it's getting discouraging. not being single or anything.. i mean, i don't mind being single, really. it's nice to only have to worry about me. but it's getting discouraging and frustrating to find that no matter where i look, i'm not finding one guy that i could set myself up with. no options, no one with potential.
i know God has a plan, and that i'd just screw things up if i did them my way. after all he knows me better than i know myself.
it's just one of those frustrating things.
and i know they exist. i know it. my friends are married to them. but they're a rare and seemingly dying breed.
just gotta hold out and hold on, i guess.
but some encouragement would be nice.

edit:
and on a super random note that i just thought of:
i had a dream last night where i tried to seduce steve martin and he totally wasn't having it. and then i was super bummed 'cause i was all embarrassed that he didn't want me. what is UP with my subconcious. prior to that dream i had a dream where i died, and didn't realize i was dead until i walked in on my own funeral. i saw myself in the casket, clearly not alive, and just balled up on the ground and cried and cried. i briefly remember even waking up in the real world crying over myself for a bit, and then going back to sleep. only one person could see me/talk to me and eventually after a few wake ups and back to sleeps my dream lost coherency. anyway.
i'm amused by dreams where i wake up crying. 'cause then there's nothing you can do but just keep crying until you get it all out and can go to sleep. sometimes my dreams are so sad, they'll wreck my whole day and i'll tailspin in depression for a few hours. it's super odd.
