i always wanted to be a tenenbaum
you, know?
i am a twenty-three year old darling girl.
i am not married, i have no children, and i didn't graduate from college. but..
i draw birds and robots; i read books; i laugh till i cry; i love until my heart bursts; i sometimes paint my face or arms with stripes if i'm bored; i create; i play guitar.
i am not impressive, but i am me.
i am addicted to Jesus Christ. He never stops loving, never stops giving, and there is always more of Him. He is the perfect addiction. no one else can satisfy.
These are all just mostly vague details. If you want me, come find me. But, I promise, at the very least, you'll think I'm nice.

"Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.
I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and
suffering need. [living in Sioux Falls or in Ames]
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me."
If God has brought me here, then who am I to complain?
I start work tomorrow.. I'm a little nervous. I think it'll be great and that I'll do well...
but what if I don't? I can't worry about things like that now. But I am very excited and very afraid.
I just don't want to get too hopeful; too carried away with thinking it's going to be super awesome and then have it be too hard. (like my last job for instance..)
I know there will be long 12 hour days. I know there will be long, long weeks. I know there will be bad days where I have to deal with grumpy patients. I know this. It's just having to really try and prepare myself for anything. Even with as much as you think and prepare, you're never really prepared, for it's never like you imagined.
Shannon still lives here, which was unexpected. I thought she had moved back to Sioux Center. But she said something to the extent of she had a buy a new car, so moving wasn't financially available to her. So, that'll be nice to have someone I know be around, and we enjoy each other's company very much. And I went into GAP yesterday... I was supposed to call them around three today to figure out scheduling, but a nap snuck up on me. I'm not sure what hours I could even offer them until I figure out my current ones with Ben. (Dr. Ben? Dr. Rall? I have no idea what to call him. I will say Dr. Rall until notified otherwise; just to be safe.) But Val said that I could always work a few weekends, I just need to talk to someone about it. I'm excited. It'll be nice back in an environment that's so familiar, even after a year.
Last night I couldn't sleep and I pretended to check people out at the cashwrap. I tried to remember how to sign in, how to offer discounts, what to do with coupons, and rattled off a few points of the GAPcard and it's benefits. I did pretty well for a test run. Let's hope that they'll give me my job back for sure and that I'll do well.
It's hard adjusting already though. I know it hasn't been very long... but what people don't realize (any more so than myself I suppose, as I am in COMPLETE denial) is that I'm locked in here.
For at least a year.
If not longer.
There is no "moving back" to Ames. I'm retaining my apartment out of pure sanity's sake. But eventually I'll have to find my own place up here.
..and that terrifies me.
I just have to keep reminding myself that it's temporary. It may be five years, ten or fifteen, but it's temporary. Iowa is home for me, and I will return as soon as humanly possible. (perhaps with a husband and kids in tow? .. let's hope.)
Speaking of husbands and kids....Paige hasn't updated the family blog in 6 days. And when I gave her the advent presents, she predicted Atticus to come on Saturday...
Lauren's facebook hasn't said anything, but goodness sakes I hope that baby's comin'!
I'm super ridiculously stupidly frustratingly irritated that I'll have to miss the baby showdown. I doubt (unless it's a weekend.) Dr. Rall will be like, "Sure, take some time off, go see that baby!" (but it'd be nice.)
I hope she likes her presents. I called her on Saturday, got her voicemail, and I haven't heard from her since.
But more than that, I hope she's well and I hope that baby is doing a-ok!
Meh.
I miss everyone.
They should all come visit me, stat!
(And bring oreos. I could use some. Oh, and maybe some tortilla chips...? ...and some refried beans...ooohhh and some cheddar cheese and some sour cream. yumyumyumyum.)
It's after midnight, so it's perfect time to make myself a snack.
Even though I have to be up in under 8 hours and it's going to be a LONG day tomorrow since Dr. Rall has a seminar afterwards that I get to help with.
Woot real jobs!
