i always wanted to be a tenenbaum
you, know?
i am a twenty-three year old darling girl.
i am not married, i have no children, and i didn't graduate from college. but..
i draw birds and robots; i read books; i laugh till i cry; i love until my heart bursts; i sometimes paint my face or arms with stripes if i'm bored; i create; i play guitar.
i am not impressive, but i am me.
i am addicted to Jesus Christ. He never stops loving, never stops giving, and there is always more of Him. He is the perfect addiction. no one else can satisfy.
These are all just mostly vague details. If you want me, come find me. But, I promise, at the very least, you'll think I'm nice.

here's a quick blip of super odd things that i've overheard of had the unfortunate privilege of being a part of:
-at work yesterday, i heard a rather grumpy 12 year old say to his grandmother, "well fine. i'll just leave you here then. i can drive. i know how to drive. i drive all the time when i play Burnout."
....you mean, you control a small plastic case of electrical impulses that controls a "car" made up of tiny pixels? who needs drivers ed when you have burnout? fred bindner is officially out of a job.
-yesterday, i had to explain to my parents what "that's what she said" means. i didn't think it was that complicated and after many, MANY, embarrassing to say examples, i still don't think they got it. for instance, we had pancakes for supper. one of the pancakes was super long and rather...phallic. anyway, i giggled to myself and then said "if this was any other house that pancake would be highly inappropriate." and my dad asked why.... *FAIL.* that was the last time i'd like the word "penis" to come up in family conversation. and then we got into the "TWSS"'s, and yikes. innuendo is hilarious. innuendo + family dinner = usually pretty funny (more or less.) innuendo + family dinner + explicitly drawn out explanations = death.
-today at work two kids were just going through a whole book and naming what was "wacky". add in their super adorable thick german-ish accents... "dat's wahkey. dat's sooo wahkey. nooo! DAT's wahkey. sooper sooper wahkey." i could barely hold it together and not laugh.
so that's only a mere blip. there were a whole bunch of other things that were just bizarre.
it was a nice addition to the super frustrating, super long, super busy day. and we were only there from 2-7. so it's not like it was even a full day.
i'm glad kim came in for a little bit. if i had to be by myself i would have lost it.
i'm still not very confident in my skills of running the office by myself.
or, well... i don't know. i mean, i know i can do it. but i think that it shouldn't be done with just one person.
the reason i bring this up is that february kim will be in the office like four hours the whole week. just four hours. so it's really going to be me by myself.
i have NO idea how that's going to work. i'm terrified of february.
but it's just something i have to get through.
and it will get better.
but for how long?
how long before i go completely insane?
plus, i'm still trying to get back into iowa state this fall.
it's getting really hard to get to that place when i have to fill out the FAFSA forms.
which is fine. it's that i need my dad's taxes information to finish it.
which also, is fine. but mom almost refuses to get it for me. i mean, i'm sure it's not blatent refusal out of complete disregard for me. but i've reminded her a million times, i've said "mom. look i NEED this info. i NEED to get this done. this HAS to get done and it HAS to be SOON." but it never happens.
it never gets done.
and i'm scared it's going to be august/september, and nothing will have been done, and then i won't be able to be in school and thing will still be at the point of me being stuck up here.
so it's really frustrating. and i'm sure mom just keeps forgetting. but it's crucial information.
i don't know.
buh.
maybe i'll get to ames in the next ten years.
maybe not.
but i hope it's more sooner than later.
oh well. i want to be back in my aparment, with my cat, and my friends.
but i suppose everything is a season.
and this currently is the season of south dakota.
you gotta take what you can get and do your best with it, i suppose.
i don't know.
i'm just trying to be content in everything.
complaining never helped anyone.
but even right here, when i'm with my family, and my sister and her husband are here, and we're talking about God and it's all good stuff...
i still don't want to be here.
i'm all anxious and frustrated on the inside because i don't want to be with people right now.
i'm overstimulated from work, and at the end of the day, i'm an introvert. i need time to myself.
and if i were to go downstairs or be somewhere else, i'd be in trouble for not being social, and i'd get asked a million times if anything's wrong, and if i'm mad, or what my problem is.
can't a girl just be alone at the end of the day?
i don't know.
but i feel like a cat that's shoved in a box.
if i don't get let out soon, it's gonna be hell for everyone who's around me.
i just need alone time. but i'm not gonna get it tonight.
ergh. fine.
oh well.
goodnight blogland.
