i always wanted to be a tenenbaum
you, know?
i am a twenty-three year old darling girl.
i am not married, i have no children, and i didn't graduate from college. but..
i draw birds and robots; i read books; i laugh till i cry; i love until my heart bursts; i sometimes paint my face or arms with stripes if i'm bored; i create; i play guitar.
i am not impressive, but i am me.
i am addicted to Jesus Christ. He never stops loving, never stops giving, and there is always more of Him. He is the perfect addiction. no one else can satisfy.
These are all just mostly vague details. If you want me, come find me. But, I promise, at the very least, you'll think I'm nice.

i like LG's approach at using lists. they're more organized, and what i can i say -- i LOVE lists. they're so... orderly! i looove it!SOMETHING OLD:
- still having frustrations at work. i have no benefits, and i haven't been to the dentist in three years. i need to ask the dr. about getting some, but i know he won't give me any so that means i have to ask for higher pay. paige and i came up with some good ideas, so i plan on acting those out on monday. (i'm more or less going to ask for a three-month review.)
- still really wishing i was back in ames. *sigh* 'cept they have some SWEET apartments here that i really really really really *REALLY* want. check 'em. www.gourleyproperties.com and click on loft apartments. they might not have full pictures up yet, but i think you can get the general jist of it looking at the header pictures. they are more studio ish, with beams, and wood floors, and BIG sweet windows, and *sigh*. it's my dream apartment. here's hoping they have decent rent! (not likely.)
- my sister is having a BABY! HOORAY!! i got her this "belly book" that charts how things are going through all three trimesters, and it's actually pretty funny. "hello belly, goodbye feet." "au revoir jeans, au revoir semblance of a waist." "my appetite is the size of: rhode island, texas, the louisiana purchase." anyway, there are places for pictures and everything and at the end you put a picture of your baby and it says "happy birthday" under it. it's really cute. i got it at pottery barn kids which is where i think i would like to live for the rest of my life if i don't get that loft apartment. seriously. i LOVE pbkids.
SOMETHING NEW:
- i'm trying to think of something good to put here. oh, remember my "life changes" that i'm working on? they're going pretty well. insert more lists!
-i've done better to not bite my nails, (only three are bitten so far, ha.)
-my room has steadily been pretty clean (i.e.- only a jacket on the floor and an unmade bed), and my bathroom is clean.
-i now run every night for 30 minutes and usually get over a mile in, but sometimes i'm so tired, i end up just walking fast for most of it. but hey, it's still movement, right?
-i'm not drinking pop anymore (super easy when it's not around), but i am still eating a crapload of candy. and i am NOT exaggerating. i really need to stop... ha, especially since i mentioned i don't have dental insurance. whoops.
-my alarm goes off at six, but i still don't crawl out of bed until seven thirty or so. (which isn't good now that i have to be at work at eight thirty.) no bible reading gets done. >.< -i do eat a sensible breakfast, though. i LOVE organic bananas and cheerios. and tuesday/thursday mornings i have a little more time, so i made some eggs with toast the other day (which i also added a small bowl of vanilla ice cream with blueberries. :D). it was so great. and i love making oatmeal and putting brown sugar and blueberries in it. -my car was clean.. but then it snowed again. and my oil is still unchanged. but i have $0 for that. and i'm being very serious. so i might see if i can borrow some from my brother today to take care of it. -my budget is okay.. but i need to find a template of %s so i know what should go where. but i'm trying my best to save a lot of money up. -and being in bed by eleven is working out more or less. i'm in bed, but i'm not always asleep. eleven just seems so early for me. but i'm exhausted most nights so that actually helps.
SOMETHING BORROWED:
- potentially money from my brother to get an oil change, and pick up my pictures that have been developing for over 4 weeks. crap. i hope they didn't throw 'em away. i would be SO sad.
- $100 from my parents for my plane ticket, since i won't get paid til the sixth and we leave on the eleventh.
SOMETHING BLUE:
- still my foot. i didn't tell you about that, did i? oh. funny story. *eye roll.* short way: i'm an idiot. long way: i was ranting about something probably work related to my mom and for emphasis i picked up the back of our dining table chairs, and THE PLAN was to thrust it down so it made a loud noise, once again for emphasis, on my main point. what actually happened was that i made one of the legs land on the top of my foot FULL FORCE. a;lgsdkh;oaisdhas. it felt awful, but i was too embarrassed at what i did to make any mention of it, so i just kept ranting. i have a huge bruise on my foot that's larger than a 50 cent piece. ugh. i'm so dumb.
SURPRISING TURN OF EVENTS:- i actually really enjoy running. i finish it with some stretching and a few of the yoga poses i remember, and it's sooooo nice. i wish i could see some real results, but that's okay. it feels nice to run even if i don't get any skinnier.
- so that plane ticket i mentioned up there... yeah. i'm going to san francisco in march. the 11-15th to be exact. first plane trip, EVER. so, i'm a little nervous. and that was a crapload of money. (i could explain why i'm going, but that'd take WAY too long. so we're calling it a mini-break holiday.) i mean, the ticket was only $340. but that was the last of my money. i know it'll be nice. it really will. and sara is being a sweetheart and paying for the hotel for me. and i've found enough free things to keep us occupied the whole weekend, and i can buy bread and pb and jelly and cereal and milk while i'm there for like $10, so i'll only eat that. and it'll be nice to have a real vacation. and to actually fly somewhere! i've never flown. it freaks me out. but i know i'll have a good time. if i die though, i'm gonna be hella pissed. the weather isn't gonna be as summery as i thought either. i guess i figured all of california was sunny and nice 'cept for the northern area which i knew was mountainy and snowy. but SF is in the middle. so it's just moderate, when i was thinking probably of san diego or something toastier. so we're looking at maybe 55-65* days. but hey, it's better than the -17* it was yesterday. ugh, south dakota is SO dumb.
WHAT IS DUMB:- south dakota. no contest.
- dude, you know what is also dumb? driving 4.5 hours in a car to get to the des moines airport, so i can fly for the next 4 hours to another state just to get there at midnight/2 a.m. AWESOME. and i didn't think it through either when i looked at our return flight time. i have to take off monday morning (the 16th) as well, because we'll get in at 10:01, back to sara's at 10:30 or so probably, i'll be back in ames by 11 hopefully, and then what ? i drive back so SD and get home at 3:30 a.m. to get to work by 8:30? no thank you. but even if i wanted to dr. rall said he wasn't going to let me come to work when i "wouldn't really be here." good point. so i'll be in ames by 11, i'll go to sleep, wake up and leave by nine so i can be back at work by 1:30.
